JY6 Nurse of the Year

This year we honored our sixth ever recipient of the JY6 Nurse of the Year Award. Our first year, Jorgen’s nurses from Sanford Children’s Hospital were honored, just as he requested. Subsequent Nurse of the Year Award winners include:

  • Nancy Pierson of Avera McKennan (2013)
  • Kristi Johannson of Sanford Children’s (2014)
  • Linda Harding of Avera McKennan (2015)
  • Ardis Hovdenes of Sanford Health (2016)
  • Melanie Miller of Avera McKennan (2017)

Every year we will continue our tradition of honoring hematology/oncology nurses within our greater Sioux Falls community with this award. Look for nomination forms for Nurse of the Year in early 2018 and recognize someone who has gone above and beyond for pediatric cancer patients. Our annual event is open to everyone, especially to our guests of honor: Nurses!
